This morning I went to class by myself since Alyssa was sick. Big Daddy stayed home with her since he wanted to sleep some more. During these times it's great to be able to have a one on one at the Dallas Pregnancy Resource Center with the mentors there. It is both uplifting and enlightening.
Of course when I get back home, they're sleeping as logs. lol. There was a light shower today as the rain comes and goes. Getting chilly too.

Happy Birthday Big Daddy!
I remember when I first met David he told me he was 24. ;) That should make this birthday his 37th LOL. I didn't find out the truth til months later during his birthday party at his parents that I seen the cake said "Happy 30th". Oops.
I think it's time for my mom to send him his cane now. He is in need with all the old man noises he makes when he stands up, sits down, climbs stairs hehe. Just teasing!

I'll resume Truthful Tuesdays next week! :)

Monday Monday
So far our little family has been feeling under the weather. While the boys have gotten better, Alyssa is still sick as ever. No fever however, she's been vomiting and today started a runny nose. Her cough is persistent.
It's been hard getting any work done when you have a sick 8 month old wanting to be sitting on Mommy's lap. Boy! Do I remember those days when D Jr was young and wanted the same thing. lol.
The weather has been beautiful, warm and sunny. Hopefully we won't have more rain for a while. lol.

Sunday Drive?
We had a huge breakfast - pancakes, eggs, sausage and toast. D Jr is feeling better but has that persistant cough. So is Big Daddy he is getting his appetite back lol.
We will be picking up a few things I need for the kids at Wally World like Pedialyte and cough medicine.
No work for Big Daddy so he gets the day to rest. Alyssa is feeling the same and has started coughing. Although she isn't vomiting anymore.
So far I'm the only one not sick lol. Can't afford to get sick really so I've been extra careful. :)
D Jr has the day off tomorrow for Teacher Day so he will be home too. Yipee! ;)

ER And Overtime
This morning we had to take Alyssa to the ER because her regular pediatrician did not have an opening to see her.
Her fever was being persistant this morning and at 7 it was a 100.4 under the arm and then at 9 it was 100.8 so I called and they advised me to take her to ER.
Even though we were prepared for a long wait, I was not prepared for a 4 hour hardly being seen wait lol. What took 5 mins to diagnosed and prescribed should have taken about 2 hours not 4 lol. Needless to say I was not happy but I could not leave either.
Her fever rectally was actually 101.4 so she did have a higher fever than thought. Or is it that the digital thermometer under the arm is a degree less than the real temperature? I always forget to add a degree to get the accurate temperature. Alyssa also did have an ear infection which we needed a medication for.
We ended up not having breakfast nor lunch so we were quite hungry but running in the nick of time for Big Daddy. To which I had to run his lunch over to him after dropping him off. He needed something to eat being that he also is still not feeling well either.
I have to wait til tomorrow to pick up Alyssa's medicine but in the meantime I'm giving her Tylenol and Motrin.

TGIF!
Friday is here! Yes! Unfortunately Both kids are sick. Alyssa has had a fever off and on since yesterday, started vomiting today, and D Jr has the cold.
I'll be keeping a good eye on both since you never know if it could be the swine flu since the schools in the area have had it.
Big Daddy is also feeling a little ill but I tell him to suck it up since he cannot miss work lol. No but really he's been taking a lot of cold medicine to kick it out of his system sooner. Hopefully.
I did take the afternoon off except for one meeting of the addmens so well see how long that last.
Alyssa reminds me of D Jr when he was younger. Very much wanting mom to carry her lol and cuddle with her.

Is It Saturday Yet?
This week seems to have dragged on and on with Big Daddy working lol. Big Daddy is counting til Sunday when he gets his one day off lol. Me? I'm thinking of getting Friday afternoon off lol. :)
We got a call from D Jr's resource teacher and he got a great report for the week. We're off to a great start.

Parenting Class, Its Perks!
We started the Bible study portion of our Parenting Class. Our lesson for today was tips on how to incorporate the biblical aspects in a young child. This is exactly what we're been looking for to teach the children. :)
It's also been raining still. Nothing heavy thankfully but light showers here and there. lol. No sun, dark skies and of course the fall chilly air reminds us that summer is over.
David is feeling under the weather with a cold and chills. Hopefully he'll be able to make it til his next day off which hopefully is Sunday.
I also went through Alyssa's clothing removing all summer outfits with fall ones and lo and behold just happens to be 9 months old sizes lol. Gosh she is growing soo quickly. She was barely fitting in her 6 to 9 month clothing because she's too tall. In fact she was already fitting into 9-12 month clothing a month ago!
D Jr is losing weight now that school started. That's always the norm for him once he goes into school however since I've been eating more healthy therefore cooking more healthier it's benefitted everyone lol.

Truthful Tuesdays
I am procrastinating on working on a huge project so I thought I would blog a little earlier today LOL ;)
1) Am looking forward to the fall season - cooler weather! This also means cooking some yummy stews and soups.
2) Bones the show is an acquired taste. I keep watching it for some reason.
3) I am going to have to stop my watermelon diet soon. Watermelon is going up in price. Need to replace it with something else.
4) Wally World sucks because they never have enough cashiers and they always have loooong lines. No matter what time of the day and night it is, they usually have 2 lines and a 15 mins wait.
5) Alyssa still won't go to bed at a decent time. Her bedtime still is around midnight. lol
6) I miss having my own place, cleaning only for us and decorating the way I want.
7) Not sure what we'll be buying D Jr for Christmas. Not sure we can top the xbox unless we get him the PS3, which isn't happening anytime soon lol

Cute Lighting Idea
In one of my bookmark blogs:Design Dazzle I read this post regarding a mod chandelier project. Orginially posted on Timeout.com
It's a cute idea using Y-sockets and small lightbulbs and screwing them all together. First you screw the Y-sockets together into the shape you want, then you screw the small light bulbs into the empty sockets. How cool is that. You can then paint them into any color you want.
You probably can get all items at HomeDepot, Lowes or Walmart, maybe?

Sunday drive
David has to work today which makes no Sunday drive. lol We did spend the day cleaning the house yesterday so we are able to just relax and enjoy.
We did go for a short drive to Hickory Creek and back right before we dropped David off to work. We filled up on gas since it's about 30 cents cheaper than around here. Hey! Every penny counts. lol
David wants to go camping before it gets too cold at night but it may be already too late for that. However it hasn't let up raining so we might not be able to til next year.

Saturday overtime
It's been David's consecutive Saturday of working overtime. Not complaining but since he has to work tomorrow as well, it makes what time we have together short for the weekend.
I mentioned to him to spend the morning with his son since they hardly get to see each other during the workweek. Only in the mornings for a quick 10/15 mins which isn't much. D Jr always needs his Dad's presence to keep him in check it seems. David is a great Dad.
Sometimes we talk about other things and he's not ready to make that move to communicate. Perhaps one day soon he can be. :)
It's been clear skies but with the threat of rain. It's been pretty dreary with the rain clouds but from what I hear it's been very much needed.

TGIF Again!
Another week another month. Can you believe it's almost mid-Sept already? Wow, time is going so fast! In a few days Alyssa will be 8 months old!
I makes me teary eyed when I think how long we waited, prayed, got our hopes up, was disappointed, had a miscarriage to finally finally have this beautiful baby girl to be paired with my cutie baby boy. :)

Thursdays!
I've been watching my new fav show NCIS. This has been on top of my list of do watch list. Even tops LandO. :)
It's amazing how you miss so much when you don't watch that much tv. Roughly been over a year, we've hardly watch any tv. David is always working and I'm always working when he works. lol
We're out doing more than we have ever did before. Hopefully we'll do even more as our finances get back into order.
I've been working out a new budget for the coming months and we're excited! ;) Let's just say with God's grace, we'll be able to have family come and stay with us more often. :P

Parenting Class, Its Perks And Rain!
We had a great lesson at our parenting class today. "Building your child(ren) self-esteem." This is something that we definitely want to get the most of out of the lesson today because we do want to make sure D Jr and Alyssa have the best self esteem they can have.
There were things that we realized that we needed to start doing more of and it was great to finally understand that it's okay for children to have moments of low self - esteem. These moments make the child (or hopefully with positive re-enforcement from us) try harder and better at tasks on hand. This I believe came in perfect timing because of the new school year that I'm sure will have its up and downs.
It's also been raining off and on still today. Quite a bit of flooding in the dry brooks and riverbeds that are near the neighborhood. I took a few pics. These are usually dry with no sign of water and look how filled they are with the rains.

Truthful Tuesdays
If you remember from this post, it's Truthful Tuesdays!
1. Rain can be such a downer. Rainy days I love but not so many all together. LOL It's been raining since like thursday!
2. I love watching NCIS it's my favorite show now. Even if it's just reruns. Where have I been all my life!
3. My boss keeps bothering me about getting my degree. It's been a rough few years and I'm still now sure if I can handle it since it would mean more work = more stress. lol
4. It's hard to watch my little baby boy grow into a man. Hard to let go. :)
5. I love my toshiba laptop. Works better than any pc I've had and have yet to have any glitch.
6. Baby clothes are expensive! I'm going through Alyssa's current clothes and sorting those she's outgrown and taking out those that she's grown into. I'm so thankful to God for providing for his blessing.
7. I think David is getting too spoiled. Since Alyssa has been born, I've been making breakfast almost every day. Minus a day or two here. Now when I ask him to make me breakfast, can you guess what his reaction is? "Umm.. how do I make it again? Or.. what do I make?"
That's not to mention that the last time I had him make breakfast was before we went to MI and! It took him two hours to make........ you guessed it - bacon and eggs. Two hours! It was not funny at the moment but looking back now, it's no wonder why I still make breakfast. LOL
We had D Jr's EIP evaluation at his school today and it looks like another great year with some great therapists. All seems willing to help D Jr achieve his goals with him striving to do them himself which we all believe he is very capable of doing so. :)

Monday Blues
Monday Blues of definitely. The rain still continues. There is slight flooding here and there. Nothing like a couple of months ago.
We had to pick up David's textbooks for the school year after school. Apparently the school gives the students two copies of each subject - one for in school (which they cannot take out of the classroom) and the other copy that stays at home. Weird huh? It's no wonder they're over-budgeted. Seems like unnecessary copies were purchased. lol
Alyssa was all wide-eyed looking at everything and everyone. First time in the school and it was very huge to at least what I've seen. ;)

Sunday Drive
There is no sunday drive due to the rain that we are having. Just too wet and cold for the kids to be out and about.
We did just relax for the day. :)

American Idol
Being that it's been a relaxing Saturday. Chores were done early this morning, with both David's help in cleaning the house. I was able to relax after a few hours of working.
I finally caught up on reading about Ellen joining American Idol as a judge? Will be interesting to watch to say the least. lol
We shall see...

Happy Birthday Mom!
It's Friday again! Yay for me, not so yay for David since he has to work again. Thank the Mighty Lord though since that just means overtime pay for him/us lol.
I spoke to Mom and Dad regarding an exciting occasion that is coming up and I glad that we are all on the same page. Hopefully and with God's blessing things go well.
Alyssa has started crawling! Since being back from MI she has taken the motivation to go from a sitting position to her stomach. Last night she started crawling! I showed David today while I was talking to Mom. She's growing to be such a young lady!
D Jr is excited about started his Cadet class. I'm excited for him too. Lots or responsibility and strict structure which I believe he needs to excel. I know he can do this and succeed.
Update!!!!!
I wanted to add Happy Birthday Mom!!
As I grow older I realize all the obstacles, trials, and journeys my mother has had to overcome. It makes me realize even more that her advice, reprimands, scolding, and direction had nothing to do with wanting to dictate my life but to show me she loved me and that she did not want me to make the same mistakes (saving me suffering, pain, and headache) that she made.
Happy Birthday Mother! Hope you had a nice birthday. Love you!

Thursday Is Communication Day
I've been thinking how much in this modern day and age we use technology to communicate. It's the greatest thing really. No longer do we have to wait several days for a letter or postcard to arrive. Now we can have instant communication.
I thought I would compile a list of ways you can get into touch with me :P
Just in case you don't know my email is naldasil @ gmail (no spaces of course and with .com at the end).
Being that it's gmail. You can also use the Google Talk to get a hold of me.
My Sis had a great idea using the yahoo pingbox. I placed mine in the right colum towards the bottom.
Also for those who can't, you can also send me a free text message using this site Text4free.net
My service provider for which you'll need to enter is Sprint. Phone number you should already know :P
So there you have it. Should be easy to get a hold of me. Last but not least call me. ;)

Updating Blog, Parenting Class, Work, Busy!
We had our weekly parenting class today and it was really an eye opener. I first learned that sometimes when I think I want God to bless me with patience I first need to rethink what I'm asking. lol.
My mentor Arlene kindly guided me that perhaps what I was truely seeking was preseverance and endurance for the situation that I find myself in. If I really wanted patience that wouldn't help the situation change but rather that God would allow it to continue to give me patience. lol.. Quite the eye opener isn't it?
I also was reminded that even though I want no ill or bad to fall to my family that I do indeed have to trust in God to protect them. Yes I do have to show and educate them to make the right choices but I have to trust in God to protect them.
I also took the time to update our blog since I've been so busy with work. I was behind over a week! I'll try not to let that happen again. lol
I had taken a few days off and it seems like I was gone forever with the work load that I had once I returned. Yucky!
Btw, sis I did see your blog and I wanted to let you know that I could no longer comment on your blog :(. I tried it in several different browsers but none would let me comment. I just wanted to say congrats! and I will keep Mom in prayer as well as talk to her to see how we can come to a compromise. ;)
I'll leave you with a couple of pics of David's Family - Richard Jr, David's Dad, David Jr, Adre, Gilda, Veronica (holding Christian), David and me. Taken around Christmas Eve at David's mom Carmen's grave. ( I was still pregnant. lol)
Unfortunately this is one of the last whole family outings his family would have. I'll continue to pray for them as well.

Truthful Tuesdays
From now on Tuesdays will be known as Truthful Tuesday. Each Tuesday, my post will involve telling you the truth, as I see it about something. This can be a truth about myself, my family, my neighbors, you, a product review, a rant, a poem or just a statement.
Let’s get Truthful Tuesday started!
1. I hate cleaning toilets. Living with mainly boys is just not fun. LOL
2. Don't you hate it when there is just a little bit of juice left in a container that should have been thrown away rather than placed back in the fridge?
3. I hate knowing that my little baby boy isn't a baby anymore. He's growing into quite the young man though.
4. I love my small family more than life itself. I first love God, my family, and then everyone else.
5. It wasn't until after I had my first child that I was able to express how much family means to me. Even now though I'm learning just how to express that more.
6. I love driving. ;)
7. Sometimes I can work in the morning and not shower until well past noon. LOL. Icky huh!

Monday!
We have no work due to Labor Day weekend. We decided since it rained and we couldn't go camping that we would go for a drive for the day.
We headed up to Denton. Of course first we had to clean the house and do our chores ;) and then we left as soon as we could go.
Gas was pretty cheap past Lewisville about $2 a gallon. Finally it is going down!

Alyssa Laughing
I took a short vid of Alyssa laughing on Sept the 2nd.
I also forgot to mention that Christian's (Our nephew on David's side) had his 3rd birthday on the 1st.
While we were in MI, D Jr kept calling Adrian Christian. He told me "Mom, I keep calling him Christian". lol. He probably missed him pestering him lol

TGIF!
I didn't have a chance to post about it but Alyssa finally got her second tooth in. While we were in MI she had her first tooth cut through. Now she has a second one to the left of the front one. She's growing so big.
D Jr has been going to a new school that is bigger now that he's in 6th grade. While he did say the first day he was nervous about going, he's been excited about being there. He's even more excited because he has cadet class now. Something that everyone who knows him knows he's passionate about.

The Day We Had To Leave Part 3
Last Part I promise lol.
More pics of us saying our byes to mom, grandma and Amanda at Amanda's place.
It's always funny seeing how the children never sit still for their photo shoots. lol
So there you have it. I finally posted all the MI trip pics that I remembered to take. Hopefully if God is willing we'll be able to go for a longer stay. I am rethinking about the winter trip though. I'm not too enthused to drive in snow. lol
I miss you all!!

The Day We Had To Leave Part 2
After leaving Dad's we went over to Grandma's to load up Aunt Dolores things as well as say our goodbyes.
I love my Grandma so much. She has helped raised us kids and we always feel that connection. It was very emotional to say Goodbye yet I know I'll see her and everyone soon.
It's amazing and with God's blessing that my grandmother has seen not only most of her grandchildren but her great grandchildren as well and a few of her great great grandchildren as well.

The Day We Had To Leave
Was the hardest emotional-est day yet for me. I was almost in tears the whole day but I knew I couldn't cry lest I scared Alyssa. lol
After saying good bye to my sister I knew I was going to not be able to say it any easier to anyone else.
Here are a few pics while we said our goodbyes at Dad's.

A Day At Eva's and in Ludington
On Sunday the 23th (August ;) ), we went over to Eva's to spend time with her as well as say our goodbyes since we would not be able to see her on Monday.

I miss my little sister so much. Just even looking at her pics reminds me just how much I missed her. Each time I gave her a hug I just wanted to stow her away to take with me.
I do not know if my siblings know this but I do try to tell them more often just how much they mean to me. All of them. Jesus, Eva, Nano. No matter what I'll always love them. I do worry about them but I know they are protected by God. I trust in Him to guide them in their lives.
After leaving Eva's, Mom took us over to the Ludington beach of Lake Michigan. The city has a newly created park there. Looked great for a picnic for which we did not have time unfortunately. Maybe next time!

By the way, can you believe it's already Sept???
