Army Surplus Store

We've been to two of these and Little David goes crazy in them. He wants so much. Least now I know what to get for xmas, birthday, and for rewards (school rewards) too.

We brought him a few camping items for our trips. Hopefully since camping is so inexpensive we'll be able to go every other week as we have. Everyone including Alyssa love going. She just loves that she gets carried I think lol

Shopping For Supplies

We did a bit of camping supply shopping today before David went to work. This time we brought more bug fogger and spray. We brought a table to use - portable one and we also brought a few utensils to have. Another latern too

David was thinking of getting the portable potty but I told him since it's not a necessity (most campgrounds have restrooms even if they are porta-jons) that he would have to work overtime before we brought it lol.

Hot Scorching

Today was so hot we really didn't want to do much. However, we did go buy our camping permit so that our spot was guaranteed for next weekend. Again we'll be going to our favorite camping spot Willow Grove

These were taken on May 26th of this year 2009 (Notice the weight loss?) lol

Stephanie's Baby Shower

We went to Tatty's Baby Shower today and had a good time catching up. We did pass her street even though we had been there before AND had a mapquest map that I had printed out. lol In my defense, her street sign wasn't even there! lol

We saw Lucita, Tatty and her daughters, Pato and her daughter (Pato's pregnant with her 3rd!), Cat and his kids, and then of course Stephanie, Patricia. The guys were outside the whole time. David because of the sun had to stay pretty much indoors because of his headaches though.

Little David had fun playing with Cat's kids. Nothing too rombutious though - since it was very very hot both indoors and outdoors. Alyssa, well let me say that chica just wanted to be with the girls. Every time I took her to David to wach for a few minutes she would cry because she wanted to be in the excitement of it all lol. She was cooing very loudly and laughing with all the noise. Being one of the gals already lol.

We didn't stay but a few hours because of the heat but we did have a nice time.

Shopping

Today I'm shopping for Tatty's daughter Stephanie's baby shower. She's due sometime next month. Will be her second baby.

I found some cute pj sets, a body suit for later in the months and some shoes.

Where David Works

I took a few pictures of where David works. He loves doing what he does and gets along well with others. It didn't take long for him to get accustomed to his job.

I tell David that God really guided and helped him with this employer. They not only are very understanding when he takes a last minute day off but they also give him generous raises. (Sometimes more than others).

The company is DIAB or DIABGroup. They have at least 3 buildings here in Dallas, but if you click on their name, you'll see that they actually have several locations all over the world.

David's job is to make the divinycell products. This is used from energy windmills to submarines even. Cool huh.

Working On A Hot Day

It has reached over 100 degrees today. Lucky for us, we have the central air on full blast cold. Definitely could feel the heat wave as we got into the car to take David to work. I'm so thankful to God that he blessed us with a car which has working a/c.

I think I'm going to get slushees from Sonic for David and me on our way home. Yumm Sonic has the best fruit slushees ever!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to both our Fathers, Grandpas, Uncles, Cousins, Brothers, etc etc

Today We went fishing all day at our favorite Park Willow Grove. As usually it was great hot weather. Maybe a tad too hot but near lake it was wonderful windy.

We did have a late start though, getting ready takes us longer than 30 mins now. lol We also had a phone call from David's sister asking if we were going to an extended family's father's day party. Unfortunately we were not told (which happens alot it seems) and we had already made plans to go.

That is one thing that David and I want to keep doing with the children. Keep consistent on what we say and do. We had already promised David to go so we felt it would not be right to cancel our already made plans for something hasty. (90% of the time those plans fall through at the last minute too.)

Anywhoo, at the lake David enjoyed fishing all day long. He actually did not want to go home when it got dark. He's getting better at casting the reel now. Perhaps a little impatient with leaving the bait out there. lol In time.

Unfortunately thanks to Grandpa!, he now wants to get something for his tackle box each time we go to any store that has fishin supplies. lol

Busy Day With Relatives

Today my Cuz Maria and her BF came over so that I could help her with some Bankruptcy papers.

Now let me tell you, if you ever decide to do this - make sure to have all your bills both current, past due, and over to collections. You should make sure you have a decent amount of time to go over this. It took us about 3 hours just to go over the sheets itself.

Later in the Day, we also had my In-law's extended family show up. Hungry and well you know how in-laws can be. ;) David and I took our children night shopping at Wally World later.

David has a cousin who also has a 5-month old baby boy. I was so surprised to see how on time in development that Alyssa was. For those that know us, you know it was and is a fear that we hope and pray that Alyssa is nor will be delayed as David was.

Get this, not only was she on track compared to this baby (and the sites I've been reading) but pass the progress charts as well. She does things that a 6 month old baby does. She sits for longer periods on her own. Stands by herself with someone holding her hands. She eats baby food already. I swear, she keeps trying to grab food from my plate already. lol

This new baby definitely has us in for surprises. ;) Not that David didn't but like each child - they all have their own unique surprises.

Tip Junkie Birthday Bash

I came across this site TipJunkie while reading some blogs. It has tons of great items for birthdays, holidays, babies, xmas, and so on and so on. They have ideas for organizing and shopping too. I love some of the things I seen.

Apparently they just turned two and are having a great party by having giveaways of their products. (Mostly made by moms and wives)

Should check out their items for ideas for xmas. *Hint, Hint* Should you need ideas for xmas for me! :D

Mickey Is A Huge Tiger

Mickey, (our pet cat of 2 yrs) has grown so much. He's like a huge tiger but a big baby.

He was Little David's 3 and last pet. Now we joke around and say when he's good - he's Alyssa's pet, and when he's bad - Little David's pet. Course, Little David still is very much attached to him like never before.

He still acts like a baby. I think he sees Alyssa as yet another person to scratch and pet him. He always tries to get close to her and sleep near her but we don't let him. Sometimes he tries to get in my lap when I'm feeding her. He always knows when I'm in the middle of something, then he tries to get attention. lol

Parenting Class

On Wednesdays, we go to Parenting Classes at the Dallas Pregnancy Center. We orginially went for a pregnancy test when our home test came out positive. (Course David thought it wasn't accurate).

We signed up for the classes since it had a been a while and we were nervous. :P

I'm glad we did, we've learned a lot since then. Things such as when and how babies make brain connections. Did you know that even in the womb babies make connections?

Currently we're studying the Magic 1-2-3 Counting discipline system. It really does work and is so easy! Of course Little David is a great kid. No tantrums at all in his track history but there are areas he needs improvement on such as doing his homework when told. The system is similar to what I grew up with so it really helps knowing the 'whys' and 'hows' together.

We're nervous with Alyssa but confident we can still raise her up properly.

The Center has been a huge blessing. Not only are the classes really down to earth and real, but the resources they have are tremendous. A huge help. They have lots to offer especially for single women who are pregnant and need the help. They do not offer financial assistance but provide and help steer you to resources you may need.

I think this would be a great thing for first time new parents. *Hint, Hint* Miss Eva. ;) :P

Alyssa's and David's First Camping Trip Together

Out of the Texas State Parks in Dallas, we decided to go to Willow Grove Park. We almost went to Hickory Creek. Yet Willow Grove is a nice park - small enough not to get too crowded, clean, and close to quite a few stores.

Firstly, we set up the tent. I told David "Be prepared, now we might get frustated with each other." Reminiscing of when I was yonger and umm you know whos would get upset with each other when a tent was difficult. ;) haha!

However it was very easy. I was quite surprised and pleased. We all were. David and David enjoyed putting it up. Thank you Grandpa Larry!

We spent the rest of the day, fishing, playing a few games we had like batmitten, frisbee.

Alyssa had quite a time. She hardly even fussed. I was worried she might not sleep well but she was so tired from the day's activities she slept most of the night.

David had fun grilling all on his own. I think he was a little nervous but he wouldn't admit to it. Although he's only grilled once before all by himself. lol... He did well though even if the chicken was just a little overdone.

Here are a few pics we took. And no Alyssa's wild hair is not from the wind. She really does have wild hair. No matter how I comb it, it always stands up and goes wacky.

Getting Ready To Go Camping

All Day We've been running around getting things done, and errands before we go camping tomorrow. Little David is all excited about going. Of course I still need to pick up the air mattress David says is a necessity. ;)

We are going camping at Willow Grove Park. It's nice and clean and small. Which David loves since he doesn't like crowds. Weird huh since he grew up in Dallas you'd think he wouldn't mind. lol...

Here are a few pics we took May 17th of this year.

David and Alyssa - 11 yrs old and almost 4 months respectively. I like this pic of the two the best since they're both smiling.

After the Storm

The calmness after the rain. It literately rained for 10 hrs straight through. We had lightening, thundering, and flooding. Apparently it was all over North Texas, the flooding anyways. Just a few blocks down, one of the bridges overflowed and caused a 15 block radius to flood.

As you know we got a flat on the way to pick David up from work. David and a co-worker had to come. David got all soaked because it seemed as soon as he got there the heavens opened up and threw water on him. lol... I think I'm going to add road-side assistance to our policy for the next time. Live and learn, right?

Hopefully this weekend we can go camping in spite of the rain. Little David has been bugging us to go along with fishing. Grandpa Larry got him a tent and fishing rod and so now he wants to go. We've been wanting to go since Easter. David of course says only if he has an air mattress. LOL Old man. ;)

Finally! Bit the bullet.

Surprised aren't you? I have finally bit the bullet and thought why not. I'm usually very protective on what is online regarding myself and my family but I think with some caution I can succeed.

Hopefully, this will make it easier for family from out of state but near our heart be closer to us via the web.

I'll try posting pics as Alyssa and David grow up. Sometimes I wonder where the time goes. Although at times I definitely need more than 24 hrs in a day.

We miss you all and hope to see you soon. You're all in my thoughts and prayers.

Taken Easter Sunday 2009. Alyssa was 2 1/2 months old and David 11 yrs old.
